Rockville’s students, educators, and families have given our community another reason to celebrate. Thirteen public schools located within the City of Rockville earned four- or five-star ratings on the 2026 Maryland School Report Card, recognizing achievements in school communities across our city.

As a graduate of Ritchie Park Elementary School, Robert Frost Middle School, and Richard Montgomery High School, and now a Wootton High School parent, I know how deeply our neighborhood schools shape our lives and connect our community. I am proud to congratulate every student, educator, staff member, and family whose dedication helped make these achievements possible.

Congratulations to Our Five-Star Schools

Four Rockville elementary schools earned five stars, Maryland’s highest rating:

• Beall Elementary School

• Fallsmead Elementary School

• Lakewood Elementary School

• Ritchie Park Elementary School

Congratulations to these outstanding school communities on this recognition of their hard work and achievement!

Congratulations to Our Four-Star Schools

We also celebrate the following nine Rockville schools earning four-star ratings:

• Bayard Rustin Elementary School

• College Gardens Elementary School

• Maryvale Elementary School

• Meadow Hall Elementary School

• Twinbrook Elementary School

• Robert Frost Middle School

• Richard Montgomery High School

• Rockville High School

• Thomas S. Wootton High School

Special congratulations to Twinbrook Elementary School and Rockville High School, both of which reached four-star status this year!

Celebrating Academic Growth

Two of our high schools also earned recognition for particularly strong academic gains. Rockville High School increased student proficiency by 13.7 percentage points in English language arts and 11.8 percentage points in mathematics, while Richard Montgomery High School recorded a 10-percentage-point increase in English language arts. Congratulations to the Rams and Rockets on this impressive progress!

These local achievements are part of encouraging progress across Montgomery County, where 134 schools earned four- or five-star ratings, representing 67 percent of the 200 rated schools.

Thank You to Our School Communities

Behind every rating are students working through challenges, teachers finding new ways to help them succeed, and counselors, administrators, and support staff creating welcoming places to learn. Families, PTAs, PTSAs, and community volunteers strengthen that work through their encouragement, partnership, and countless hours of service.

Our responsibility is to match that dedication with continued support. I remain committed to advocating for safe, well-maintained school buildings, strong neighborhood schools, and the resources every Rockville student and educator deserves.

Congratulations to our four- and five-star schools, and thank you to everyone helping Rockville’s students learn, grow, and thrive!
