Financial Support for the City of Rockville
April 5, 2024
One of my campaign pledges was for the City to obtain significantly more financial help for projects from the state and federal governments. Accordingly I am extremely pleased to report that over the past few weeks the City of Rockville has worked to formally obtain $3,915,252 million in federal funding for five major projects: a new Emergency Operations Center, Rockville Police Department interoperable radio communication equipment, water main and sewer line rehabilitation, and storm drain improvements in the Potomac Woods neighborhood. Additionally, Rockville has also obtained from the federal government a commitment of $568,000 for the planning and design for a proposed bridge to connect Twinbrook with Rockville Pike. I am thrilled that we are finally moving towards building this important bridge!
Thank you to the City of Rockville staff as well as to Congressman Raskin, Senator Cardin, and Senator Van Hollen for helping us obtain these funds! These major funding additions of more than $4.4 Million are a significant achievement for Rockville and will help ensure that we can better fund our budget priorities.
