Today, I was incredibly honored to attend the 37th Annual Rockville Public Safety Awards and join our community in recognizing the outstanding public safety personnel who help keep Rockville safe.

Congratulations to all of this year’s awardees. Your service, dedication, courage, and commitment to protecting others represent the very best of public safety.

A particularly special and personal congratulations to Montgomery County Police Officer Mark Monsini and Montgomery County Deputy Sheriff Jacob Rommal for their extraordinary bravery and life-saving actions on February 9th during the shooting at Wootton High School. Deputy Rommal performed life saving actions on the injured student, and Officer Monsini spearheaded the security sweep of the school. Their quick response and courageous actions were critical, and our entire community is deeply grateful.
