I am thrilled to announce that Jason West has been selected to be the permanent Chief of Police for the Rockville City Police Department after a nationwide search and input from community members!  

Chief West has also served as RCPD’s acting police chief, public information officer, and he has also commanded patrol operations, the Special Operations Division, and the Field Services Bureau.  Chief West has received various awards and commendations, including the National Sheriff’s Association Valor Award for saving the life of a fellow police officer. Thank you to everyone who attended our Public Forum Session at City Hall with all of the police chief candidates and provided the City with your input.  

Chief West is an incredible leader, a dedicated officer, and a wonderful person. I am truly proud to have him leading our City's Police Department.
